Jacob Schach Moeller (Aarhus, Denmark): "Limiting Absorption at Positive Temperature"
Thursday 25 April 2013, 10:50 - 11:35

This talk is devoted to spectral theory of standard Liouvilleans, pertaining to finite level systems interacting with a thermal resevoir at inverse temperature $beta$.

It is wellknown that Quantum Koopmanism relates the dynamical properties of such systems, e.g. 'return to equilibrium', with the spectral structure of the associated standard Liouvillean.

The goal of the talk is to outline a proof of absence of singular continuous spectrum for the standard Liouvillean, at arbitrary coupling strength but sufficiently low temperaure. This result reduces 'return to equilibrium' - at low temperature - to establishing simplicity of the zero eigenvalue coming from the β-KMS state.
